Wonderful Art Nouveau sash pin set set with three rose-cut amethyst glass stones in a brass frame with detailed gingko leaves as a motif. Circa 1890s-1900. 3" x 2". A Detail of the Incredible Ginko Leaves Engraving. A View of the Back. $85.
Wow! Wow! Wow! This is one of the best examples of Czech-style Renaissance revival, circa 1900s-1930s, that has ever passed through my hands. The unfoiled center stone is a bright cherry red, in an unusual shape. It is flanked by four double-faceted raspberry-red baguettes, prong-set. The sides are accented by garlands with deep red enamel leaves and white florettes. The red enamel is translucent, the white enamel is opaque. The fleur-de-lys shaped pendant bail is set with a tiny "ruby" stone for the perfect touch. The brass filagree appears to be gold-washed and is in great condition. The chain is 24 1/2" long. Pendant is 1 3/4" x 1 1/4" -- a substantial size. Pendant bail adds 1/2" to the length. I believe that the clasp is a replacement, but I am not sure, since I did not carry out the replacement. Here is an additional picture on a neck form. Fit for a Queen. $158.
Absolutely gorgeous turn of the century Czech pendant evokes Renaissance glamour with its enameled accents and large, faceted stone. The bezel-set central stone is open-backed to let the light in, and is flanked by two small faceted baguettes in a paler shade of amber yellow. The filigree and the delicate pink and jade-colored enamel flowers are the Edwardian-era version of Elizabethan splendour. Queen Elizabeth herself would not have sneered at this as a dress ornament. 2" x 1 3/16". 75$.Another View
This vintage porcelain pin is so romantic. It was purchased in a small store in Paris, France, that sells "new old stock." I would date this pin to the early 1940s, but it could be older. The clasp is unusual to me, not one I've seen before -- a trombone clasp with a unique (i.e. hard to describe:-) locking device. The pin appears to be hand-painted, or at least to have handpainted accents. The lady is wearing a fitted purple gown, and the gentleman is amiably doffing his hat and offering his hand as the lady curtsies. The detail is wonderful -- the tiny bow at the gentleman's knee, the lady's feathered hat and necklace. Set in antiqued goldtone. 2 1/8" x 1 5/8". $135.
